    VR Chat

All you need to know about VRChat

This is the hottest VR game that came out in the last few weeks, I have been seeing
around a lot of videos on YouTube about it and oh boy, it looks amazing, but
what makes this game different from other one that already exist for VR? Well,
keep reading to know more about it.

Actually, if you live in the golden era of WoW you might already know how mechanicals on
this game kinda works, you have a character and you just wander around a full
open world (still under construction, but it seems at the end it would be

WoW was actually a really bad reference to made towards this game, but you get the
point, the main attractive to this one new amazing addition to the long list of
games we already know for VR is that, you will be interacting, in real time,
with other players, and for some reason this is the first one of his kind to
have some kind of success in the world of virtual reality, I been seen over the
last few years some games that try to implement that open world real time
playing mode but they never get too popular.

The most attractive feature of VRChat is that actually you have a lot of characters
to choose over, and as soon as a new meme came around, is implemented to the
game and you can play in his body, you have from your favorite star-wars
character, WoW elves and ogres, and Anime characters a little bit to light on
clothes, but that is kind of the charm of the game.

Now, being a little bit more technical about the game, in terms of graphics, for me is
a 4 over 5, graphics are really well designed and every single details have
been carefully taken care of, however as is a relative new game some glitches
can happen and you can actually see inside the head and body of other players,
I hope developers can work over this in the future.

We don’t have too much to judge in terms of sound, no sound track needed for a
game that is basically a chat room, however in terms of communication voices
hear really good, so it also have a 3 over 5.

Last but not least game-play. Well, that’s a solid 5 over 5, this is an amazing
idea, and the fact that you can actually interact in real time, in an open
world with people of all kind and in VR is amazing, the attractive of this game
is really good and I hope it would last a long time around.

Honorifics mention, physics. You need to see how physics on manga characters work, really…
    well made.

Overall this is an amazing addition to the VR world, you are assuring a lot of fun with
your friends and maybe the new ones you will made over the whole game-play,
also I am sure with actualizations and expansions this game could be the best
one on 208, and we just started the year! Is really amazing and I am really
curious to know what we will see about this game in the future. Who knows, this
is a great game for sure!

    Overall Rating: 4/5

    Realm Quest

Realm Quest – New VR MMO RPG Coming Soon

Realm Quest is a much anticipated upcoming open world virtual reality online role-playing title being developed by the team at Dynamious Studios! The game is set to release in early February and promises to provide a vast array of in-game content along with an expansive open world to explore with complete freedom of traversing and interacting with the environment.

Players will be able to experience and explore a fantasy medieval setting with a generously populated world map full of houses to raid, castles to explore, caverns to crawl through and much more!

Not much has been revealed about NPC’s and seems like other online players are the only main source of interaction and battle as you look around and explore the open world.

The game does feature the basic character customization options we have all come to expect from RPG’s. As players can choose their gender, class and favorite weapon upon first logging into the game. Not much is known in terms of stats difference offered by these different classes or how it plays a role in terms of overall gameplay balancing.

Alpha gameplay footages have shown quite a few basic medieval time weapons player can find throughout the game world and choose to pick up and switch it depending on their playstyle, There are also some talks of magic-infused artifacts which player will be able to wield but not much has been shown in terms of it so far.

The game boasts some pretty impressive and eye candy graphics, with a beautiful and detailed environment along with huge panoramic landscapes featuring day and night cycle which all seems pretty impressive, especially looking at the sunset and in-game dynamic lightning work which makes the in-game sunset a sight to behold!

In terms of gameplay, players can go looking for quests or compete in skilled PVP competitions which is always an interesting thing to see in VR games especially in an open world RPG.
Players can also spend time exploring the enormous map and trying to find a class that best fits their play style along with different weapons and armor found scattered throughout.

In terms of performance, the game can sometimes be somewhat of a memory hog as RPG’s generally tend to be, but overall the frame-rate seems to be pretty stable, especially looking at the size and content the game world always seems to have to render.

Players can accept a myriad of bugs upon release especially during the early access phase the game will soon go into as the developing team is quite small and working their best to provide the players with best gaming experience, frequent patches and fixes are assured to come.

Overall the game seems to promise an interesting VR experience with a beautiful and expansive open world to explore and enough freedom to keep the interaction with the environment enjoyable and online gameplay making the PVP and quests more fun making it an upcoming VR title to keep your eyes out for!

Game can currently be found on its steam page at http://store.steampowered.com/app/687520/Realm_Quest/

    Three Latest VRMMO’s

So a lot of us have probably been hearing about VR now that the classic controller video games’ days are numbered. So what is Virtual Reality (VR)? It is a computer generated simulation that makes gaming much more immersive or more realistic so to speak.
VR MMO is a the same as VR, the only difference is that MMO is massively multiplayer hence the acronym MMO( massively multiplayer online). In order to understand MMO more we are going to look into three VR games, OrbusVR, Metaworld and Age of Heroes.

This is the first of its kind VR game and its truly wonderful. It features a huge open world, that is 20 hours on the main story quest which is single player, and unlimited time on multiplayer. When playing alone, you can do a lot of things such as going fishing and hunting. You can also be a merchant, selling and buying valuables at your market stall (there are markets). When playing as a group you have an advantage as some monsters can only be defeated by well coordinated efforts by a dozen or so group members. That means that in order to be a great member of a group you have to train yourself in combat by learning the four disciplines of the game, runemage ( memorizing runes that were used to create the world), ranger (mastering the bow and a variety of special arrows) musketeer (mastering the musket and runic orbs) and warrior ( being the protector of the group). Available for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

    Community Garden

This VRMMO is focused on exploring the vast world. The game is one large world, so you do not have to worry about loading screens, cuts, etc. whilst browsing the world or going inside of buildings. You can own your own area in the metaverse. With great lip sync, and beautiful graphics the game is really well polished. The community seems to be lacking a little bit more than other games, however that can be easy to solve. The game is available for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, as well as Windows Mixed Reality.

    Age of Heroes
This is a VR game that is more focused on combat as the player or players fight demons or bosses in dungeons in a bid to protect the world. The game fosters team work and strategy.Players get to choose between one of four classes that is mages (masters of power), archers (trained fighters), warlocks ( masters of fighting demons) and priests ( masters of healing and resurrection). The avatars in the game react to each others movement and can dodge attacks by moving out of the way, so once you have your team you can get better gear to increase your characters ability. It is available for HTC Vive, Playstation VR and Oculus Rift.

Now that you know about these wonderful games, enjoy VR!

A room-scale fantasy VR MMO featuring combat, exploration, and crafting designed for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift+Touch.

OrbusVR is a new VRMMO successfully crowdfunded on Kickstarter. This official Kickstarter page can be found here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rileydutton/orbusvr-virtual-reality-mmorpg

A virtual world designed from the ground up to be an immersive, MMO experience for a room scale VR System. This game will most likely be developed with the Vive in mind as the “room scale” is indicated. However, with the advancements of the Rift it should be possible for that as well.

So far the game-play is limited to the video you should see above, there isn’t much to go off of other than that. They do have some small things listed on their website, but for the most part it seems to be your average MMO. Classes are called disciples vs. the generic class name. These range from RuneMage (Magic Wielder), Ranger (Bow and Arrows), Musketeer (Gunner), and of course the Warrior (Sword/Shield Wielder). There are also sub disciples you can chose from, these include: Alchemy, Fishing, and Artificing (Repairing weapons, and upgrading them). This is something I really enjoy in most MMOs as it allows the ability to do stuff other than the normal combat in games. Especially in a VR game I can only hope that it’d be a blast to be able to repair swords, fish, etc.

“It’s dangerous to go alone” There’s a section on their website that indicated the monsters will be quite hard to defeat on your own, and it’s encouraged to find other people to go on your adventure with. I love this idea as the classic hack n’ slash games that make you seem over powered tend to get old for me. This also helps to bond the community, increase the need for guilds, etc. With the need to group up to go out into the basic wild you can only think that dungeons, raids, etc. will be extremely difficult and will require a whole raiding party to act with precision.

All in all this game looks really good, and it’s something to definitely keep and eye out. We will be keeping you all updated as we get updates for the game ourselves! Feel free to check out their website: https://orbusvr.com/

Roblox VR – First MMO with VR?!

Roblox has announced that they have gone VR making them, what appears to be the first MMO to go VR. The official post by them is here: http://blog.roblox.com/2016/04/roblox-enters-the-vr-space-with-launch-on-oculus-rift/  Roblox is a widely known MMO that now has the advantage on any others currently out there.

“The experience of ROBLOX on Oculus Rift is similar to other ROBLOX platforms. It is fully cross-platform, meaning that if you’re on Oculus Rift, your friend is on PC, and another friend is on mobile, you can all jump into the same game server. No other games on Oculus Rift are or any VR tech offer that level of connectivity.” quoted from the link above, they currently only have the Oculus Rift capability, however, in an interview they stated they will be reaching out to all other VR devices, and trying to incorporate them as well. The game has been available for around a month now, and they stated they have most main sites, and almost all features fully VR capable. This shows that pre-existing MMO’s are fully capable of doing this, however, when they will is entirely up to them.

Sword Art Online MMO Gameplay Sneak Peak

Sword Art Online, or what most people refer to as SAO is one of the anime series that started the boom for VRMMO’s. SAO helped create the excitement, and hope that one day we will have a truly immersive VR game, as well as wanting a VRMMO in general. There were rumors and small little posts here and there about a VRMMO of SAO coming out, and many people were saying it was a fake and hoax, however https://www.facebook.com/SwordArtOnlineBestPage/ came out and posted a video of some very early alpha/indev video of what seems to be a dungeon for the game itself.

On top of this, IBM Japan also came out and announced the game to be called “Sword Art Online The Beginning” with Bandai Namco, Aniplex several other partners. The IBM official video is right here:

The Alpha test will be tested by 208 alpha testers that will sadly only be in the Tokyo Metropolitan area and will be held March 18th and 20th.

There isn’t much known, or released about the game other than the two videos listed above. Keep in mind that the first video displayed hasn’t been confirmed by IBM as their game, and could be proven to be another game or fan made project in the works. The only thing we know right now, is the game is set to be released for the Oculus Rift, as well as the HTC Vive.

For more information on the game as it comes out, make sure to follow us over here at VRMMO.co
